About Us

Our life is anything but boring, at least some of the time!

We both grew up in the Pacific Northwest and now call Boise, Idaho home.  When we were first married, we packed our bags and moved to Dunedin, New Zealand, to attend the University of Otago.  We loved it so much, we moved back a second time before moving back to Idaho.  Boise has been a great home base for us, and we recently sold our 790-square foot fixer-upper and moved into a townhome near the Boise River.  Ben just ran the Robie Creek half marathon for the third time (it’s the “toughest half marathon in the West,” with more than 2,000 feet elevation gain over the first 8.5 miles) and plans to run his first marathon in Philadelphia later this year.  In her spare time, Michelle runs Jazz Retail, an online resale business.  

We love learning, and education has given both of us invaluable opportunities to explore the world.  Michelle has a Master’s in History and teaches online classes in Modern European History part-time while managing her online business.  Ben has a Ph.D. in Spanish and Latin American Studies and is currently going back to law school to earn a J.D.  while serving as Director of the Idaho Human Rights Commission.
